163 killed in road crashes so far this year

One hundred and sixty-three persons have been killed in 151 fatal crashes since the start of this year. Fatal crashes and fatalities have decreased by seven per cent and 12 per cent, respectively, when compared with similar period in 2016. Pedestrians account for 24 per cent of the road users killed since the start of the year, while motorcyclists account for 31 per cent of the road users killed. Clarendon, St. Ann, Westmoreland and St. Catherine account for 52 per cent of the overall fatalities.
