Two police officers attached to the Freeport Police Station, have been charged in relation to the death of a man at a shopping complex in Lilliput, St. James on April 13 of this year. Twenty-year-old Barrington McAnuff o/c 'Banton' was shot and killed by the police at a restaurant located in the shopping complex. According to the police, they approached a shopping complex, when they spotted McAnuff acting in a suspicious manner, and when they attempted to accost him, he pulled a firearm and a shootout ensued. The 20-year-old was killed on the spot, and a .38 revolver was taken from him. Both officers were charged after a ruling was handed down by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
