2 prisoners hospitalised after police vehicle, minibus crash

Two prisoners and a civilian were rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital following a crash on Oxford Road in New Kingston involving two Toyota Hiace minibuses, one of which is a police service vehicle. The buses were reportedly travelling along the roadway this morning when, on reaching the vicinity of Oxford Park Avenue, they collided. According to a passenger, who was on board the private bus, the driver was turning onto Oxford Park Avenue when the police vehicle attempted to overtake it. The eyewitness said the police vehicle slammed into the side of the bus, pushing it into a wall. The condition of the two inmates is unknown but the driver of the privately operated bus, escaped serious injury. The New Kingston Police are investigating.
