A 48 hour curfew has been imposed in a section of St. James and additional police and military personnel deployed after twelve persons were shot during a flare up in violence over the last two days. Five of those shot succumbed to their injuries. Last Night, gunmen apparently went on a rampage in some communities, including Flanker. The curfew is in effect in the community of Glendevon where several of the shootings took place. Senior Superintendent Marlon Nesbeth, head of the St. James Police, says the curfew, which is scheduled to end at 6 o'clock Saturday evening, might be extended.
