Beheaded woman was pregnant, Grange says

According to the Office of the Children’s Advocate, it has received reports that photographs of Ms. Karen Rainford’s severed head, that is the woman who was beheaded in Mountain View, St. Andrew over the weekend, are being circulated on social media and via email. The OCA in a press release is advising the public to discontinue the dissemination of the photograph of Ms. Karen Rainford. Speaking in the debate on the Joint Select Committee’s report on the Anti Gang Bill, The Opposition’s spokeswoman on Information, Youth, Culture, Sports and Gender Affairs, Olivia Babsey Grange, revealed that the beheaded woman was pregnant at the time of her death. She asked the question “where is the mechanism to protect our women from this kind of obsession, and where is the support they can turn to when they need help?” This caused Senator Johnson Smith to raise the issue of the need to amend the Child Care and Protection Act, the Offenses Against the Persons Act and the Sexual Offences Act, to deal with acts of violence against women, children, the elderly and disabled.
