Boyz clip Suriname 1-0, progress to CFU semis

Defending champions Jamaica defeated Suriname 1-0 on Sunday at the National Stadium, to seal their place in the semi-finals of the Caribbean Football Union’s Scotiabank Caribbean Cup, as well as the CONCACAF Gold Cup. A 16th minute strike from former Rivoli player Cory Burke, was the decider. Jamaica led Group One in the tournament on goal difference going into the game, but the victory separated them from Suriname on points, as they ended with six, to Suriname’s three. The other team in the group, Guyana, failed to pick up a point.
