Embattled Energy Minister Phillip Paulwell is receiving the support of the Portia Simpson-Miller led Cabinet amid growing controversy surrounding his handling of the 381 megawatt project and calls that he be removed, this according to one local news source.
The declaration of support comes ahead of today's Cabinet meeting which will discuss the future of the energy project. The Energy Minister who has come under fire for his handling of the license issued to Energy World International, EWI, submitted a report on the matter, to delegates at yesterday's meeting of the Peoples National Party's National Executive Council.
Following the meeting, PNP Deputy Chairman, Anthony Hylton, said Mr. Paulwell continues to have the backing of the administration. He said the Cabinet will now turn its attention to other areas concerning the 381 megawatt project.
