The candidates for the April 27 by-elections in the Yallahs Division in St. Thomas and the May Pen North Division in Clarendon are to be nominated today. Businessman John Alexander Lee was yesterday evening selected to represent the Jamaica Labour Party in Yallahs. Mr. Lee replaced Dean Jones who earlier resigned. Mr. Jones, who was elected the councillor for Yallahs in the November 2016 Local Government election was disqualified following a Supreme Court ruling last month. The People's National Party last night confirmed that former Councillor Constantine Bogle will be its candidate in Yallahs. In the May Pen North division, Tanya-Lee Williams is expected to be nominated for the Jamaica Labour Party and Vivian Allen for the People's National Party. The seat became vacant after the death of the JLP's Melvin Jones on December 24 last year. All four candidates will be nominated between noon and 2 o'clock.
