CAPI describes J$4M price tag on Bakr deportation to T&T as ‘Scandalous’

Local lobby group Citizens’ Action for Principles and Integrity (CAPI) called on National Security Minister Peter Bunting and Minister of Information Sandrea Falconer to clarify reports that it costs the Jamaican taxpayers approximately JA$4,000,000.00 to deport controversial Trinidadian Muslim leader Yasin Abu Bakr to Trinidad and Tobago. CAPI’s co-convenor Dennis Meadows asserts that while the lobby group supports the National Security decision taken by the government to deport the Muslim leader, however, if the reports hold true, it questions why it was necessary to return Mr. Abu Bakr on a private flight at great costs to taxpayers.
