An agreement has been reached for academic staff at the University of Technology (UTech) to resume duties today. A statement from the university said the administration and the Academic Staff Union met at the Ministry of Labour on Thursday, resulting in resumption of classes. Classes were cancelled on Thursday after lecturers took protest action. There have been long-standing issues between the UTech administration and staff. Thursday’s protest was triggered by what the academic staff union said was the alleged victimization of two of its members.
