Crude oil spillage and one dead after truck crashes on North/South Highway …

A crash involving a truck this morning left crude oil on the North/South Highway in the Mammee Bay vicinity of St. Ann. Word coming from the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) is that the spill on the corridor has now been contained in a concrete pond.  Units from the Jamaica Fire Brigade were on location first along with members from the Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management. The driver of the truck 22 year old Jubelanie Dennis died at the hospital. Reports are that on reaching the exit in Mammee Bay, St Ann, the vehicle seemingly developed mechanical difficulties, hit an embankment and overturned.
