Fifteen people have been killed in a stampede at a football final in Kinshasa the capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo officials said. The trouble began towards the end of the game when the home team AS Vita was losing 0-1 to TP Mazembe. After fans began throwing stones Police fired teargas to try and stop them, but the tens of thousands of fans in the crowd panicked and began pushing towards one exit. The Confederation of African Football (Caf) has condemned the violence and urged a thorough investigation to ensure that it does not happen again. Last month, at least 14 were crushed to death at a tribute festival for popular Congolese singer King Kester Emeneya.
