An East Lyme teenager is set to be arraigned on charges of threatening and breach of peace on accusations he posted a message on social media threatening violence. State police say 18-year-old Tyler McKenzie posted the message on the app Yik Yak that said he was bullied and East Lyme “better get ready for the hail of bullets.” State police say a search warrant at McKenzie’s home Wednesday produced unspecified evidence. Police say he was interviewed and admitted to being involved with the post and did not have guns. He’s being held on $25,000 bond and is scheduled to appear Friday in New London Superior Court. It’s not known if he’s represented by a lawyer. The threat forced the cancellation of sports events and parents were notified that school security would be increased.
