Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan dies at Dallas hospital

The Liberian man who was diagnosed with Ebola in Texas has died. Thomas Eric Duncan died early this morning at 7:51 am as confirmed by a statement from Texas Health spokesman, Wendell Watson. Duncan’s illness and treatment have sparked controversy. He arrived in Dallas on September 20 from Liberia, one of the hardest-hit areas of the outbreak. Duncan is also the first person known to die of Ebola in the United States. The World Health Organization estimates that the highly contagious virus has killed more than 3,400 people in West Africa in 2014.
