The Education Ministry's safety and security director is to visit the Cumberland High School in Portmore, St Catherine this morning amid reports that students have been attacking the teaching staff. Assistant Superintendent Coleridge Minto is to meet with the school's principal and staff. Yesterday, teachers at Cumberland High staged a sit-in to protest the series of attacks by students. Teacher Donovan Edwards said the latest incident occurred on Friday when the principal was physically attacked by a female student after he attempted to discipline her. The student also retaliated by throwing a stone into the principal's car.
