The Meteorological Service has extended the FLOOD WATCH for St. Mary and Portland until 5:00 p.m. today. The Stationary Front, which has been producing rainfall mainly across northern parishes of Jamaica, has dissipated. However, another Cold Front is just north of Jamaica. Moderate to heavy showers continued across Portland and St. Mary and was extended to St.Thomas as well. A FLASH FLOOD WATCH means that flash flooding is possible and residents are advised to take precautionary measures, keep informed by listening to further releases from the Meteorological Service and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a Warning is issued. The Meteorological Service will continue to monitor the situation.
