Ronald Thwaites, Minister of Education, is not happy with the situation at the Oracabessa Primary School in St. Mary which has been closed for the past two days due to a flea infestation. It appears that students will not be back in the classroom until next week as exterminators are spraying the compound. Mr. Thwaites said the situation is cause for concern. The Principal of the school is insisting that assertions, that the flea infestation is a result of a dirty compound, are not true. He has maintained that the infestation is due to dogs which gained access to the compound, near a section of the grade four block.
