The Jamaican Government has shrugged off a prediction by the Parliamentary Opposition that the country will fail future International Monetary Fund (IMF) tests, this according to one local news source. Finance Minister Dr. Peter Phillips last night dismissed the forecast as another attempt by the Jamaica Labour Party to discredit the Government. When contacted by the press, the Finance Minister said the prediction was baseless. The report continues that it was Delroy Chuck, a senior member of the JLP and MP for North East St Andrew who made the prediction of future IMF test failures while giving the main address at the Party's Area Council One meeting on Sunday. He said although all IMF tests have been passed so far, the pressure of passing the tests will soon take its toll on the government.
