Hong Kong confirmed its first case of Zika after a foreigner based in the city returned from the Caribbean showing symptoms of the mosquito borne virus. The Centre for Health Protection said the foreigner had travelled with two other family members to the Caribbean and stayed there from August 6 to 20. It is reported that the 38 year old woman displayed symptoms last Saturday. She arrived in Hong Kong on Monday and visited a doctor the following day. This was followed by a blood test on Wednesday. The patient is now isolated in a hospital.
