The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man identified as Wayne Campbell by the police in Clonmel, St. Mary yesterday. Police were called to the Guava Road area at 7:30 am after receiving reports that a knife wielding man was attacking residents. Campbell is accused of dragging his 15- year-old daughter to bushes where he slashed her throat, stabbed her several times in the abdomen and reportedly raped her. The former convict was then shot after he reportedly attacked a resident. He was taken to the Annotto Bay Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Campbell had served a 13-year sentence for murder and was released from prison in December 2012. Campbell is also accused of raping one of his daughters in January and stabbing a woman after fleeing the scene.
