The Jamaica Association of Composers, Authors and Publishers (JACAP) has disbursed more royalties to its members. The Economic and Social Survey 2016 shows it disbursed J$56.7 million in royalties that were collected during the year. This represented an increase of 45 per cent compared with 2015. Overseas royalties collected in 2016 by JACAP on behalf of its members totalled to $21.5 million. Meanwhile, the Jamaica Music Society recorded an increase in gross income in 2016 - it totalled $63 million - an increase of 18.3 per cent relative to 2015.
