24-year-old Jamaican Appolonia McClain-Smith was yesterday found guilty of human trafficking in the Bahamas. The incident took place between May to July 2013. The Jamaican, who is married to a Bahamian national, lured a female victim from Jamaica to the Bahamas under the guise, that she would be employed as cashier. McClain-Smith has denied all charges brought against her. She was found guilty of trafficking in persons, unlawfully withholding the identification of a person, and transporting a person for the purpose of prostitution.
