Khalilah Rose Upbeat About Weep Not

Roots Reggae songstress Khalilah Rose is excited about her recently released single titled Weep Not. “Weep not is a very positive and spiritually uplifting song. I recorded this song to open up the eyes of the people about the wickedness of the world. There are so much bad things going on out there. Some people out there are dedicated to the mass destruction of humanity, but Jah will not let them succeed. Weep Not is a song of hope in this time of great despair,” said Khalilah. Weep Not was produced by two of Jamaica’s most renowned musicians guitarist Earl ‘Chinna’ Smith and saxophonist Dean Frazer. Both men are legends in their own rights, who have played on countless Reggae albums for artistes such as Bob Marley, Ziggy Marley, Luciano and Tarruas Riley. “Working with Chinna and Dean was a great experience, they are very good musicians and producers, really nice people to work with too. I am looking forward to doing more great work with them.” Khalilah Rose was recently featured on the cover of the popular UK based Just Jah magazine. “Being on the cover of such a prestigious magazine that deals with issues relating to the Rastafarian culture is a great honor for me. When the magazine came out my phone was ringing off the hook, a lot of my friends and associates were calling me about it. My management’s office was also inundated with a lot of calls and emails. This kind of exposure is good for my career,” said the artiste. Khalilah Rose is currently busy in the studio working on tracks for her sophomore album. “The work on the album is coming along just fine, I’m working with some really talented producers and musicians. We are taking our time, we don’t want to rush the process. There’s need for a rush because I’m still promoting my first album and rushing creativity is not my style.” Also in the pipeline for the affable Portland native are a number of shows both locally and abroad. “I have a lot of shows lined up. I have a number of local shows, I also have several shows in other parts of the Caribbean, the US and Europe. This year is shaping up to be another busy year for me on the road.” Weep Not is the 4th single to be released from Khalilah’s award winning debut album titled Weep Not.
