It has been reported that Kingsley Thomas, former head of the Development Bank of Jamaica and former chairman of the National Housing Trust (NHT), is among those to be interviewed for the post of president of the National Water Commission (NWC). Interviews are scheduled to begin today. Highly-placed sources relayed that Mr. Thomas is among three short-listed applicants. Seventeen applications were received for the post. A committee of the Board of the NWC has been established to conduct the interviews. The post of NWC president became vacant, following the appointment of Albert Gordon as Director-General of the Office of Utilities Regulation (OUR) on November 1. Mark Barnett, a vice president of the NWC, has been overseeing operations at the Commission.
