The league cup format, which was discarded eight years ago for league play could be re-introduced for next season's National Premier League. As Sun City news understands, the sponsors seem to be leading the clamour for change, which could be made for the season starting on September one. The competition could be cut to three rounds of league play, after which the top eight teams could battle in two groups of four or a semifinal with the top four teams. PLCA Vice-Chairman Carvel Stewart said discussions were still ongoing. However he told news media that changes would fall in line with what sponsors want.
