The House of Representatives yesterday approved the Municipalities (Validation and Amendment) Act. It validates official duties performed by Mr. Thomas, who has been acting as Mayor beyond the six months stipulated by law. Local Government Minister, Noel Arscott, told our news centre the Bill also addresses issues concerning two divisional boundaries in the Municipality. These include giving two secitions of Portmore representation in the Municipality as well as providing the Chairman with a casting vote.
