Motorists soon to pay more on North South Highway

In a few days, motorists will begin to pay more to travel along the North South Highway. Transport Minister Mike Henry said the implementation of the new fees should take effect on September 10. However, the toll will be lower than what was being sought by the developers of the highway, which runs from Caymanas Estate in St. Catherine to Mammee Bay in St. Ann. The developers&; proposed rate for Class One vehicles travelling from Caymanas to Ocho Rios was $1,360; for Class Two vehicles, it was $2,730; while the rate for Class Three vehicles was proposed at $4,090.
