Nestle Jamaica has announced that it will discontinue production of Milo at its Bybrook factory in St Catherine. Reports are that production will be outsourced to an Asian market. The manufacturer cited “high unsustainable maintenance and production costs as well as limited growth potential” as the reasons behind the decision. Declining export possibilities have also influenced the move. At least 30 jobs are expected to be cut when production ceases.
