A new law is on the rise that will prohibit Justices of the Peace for charging for their services. And those who lose their seal will have to bear the cost of replacing it. These are some of the provisions of the long-in-coming Justices of the Peace (JP) Act that was passed in the Senate on Friday. It was previously approved in the House of Representatives in January. The Justices of the Peace Act, 2018 was piloted in the upper house by Leader of Government Business in the Senate, Kamina Johnson Smith.
