Obama says Ebola outbreak a 'global security threat'

As described by President Barack Obama, the Ebola outbreak in West Africa is “a threat to global security” and it requires a “global response”. As such, President Obama has ordered 3000 US troops to the region to build new healthcare facilities. The President said that the US would help by building 17 healthcare facilities in Liberia, develop an air bridge for fast delivery of much needed supplies and train as many as 500 health care workers a week. The World Health Organization has reported that the Ebola virus has killed 2,461 people this year.
