Patrick Powell — who has been acquitted of murder and shooting with intent charges in the Home Circuit Court in October — is to appear in court today. Powell is scheduled to appear in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court for allegedly failing to turn over his firearm to investigators in the X6 murder case. Powell had been on trial for the shooting death of Kingston College student Khajeel Mais on July 1, 2011 and for shooting at Wayne Wright, the taxi operator in whose car Mais was travelling when he was shot. Wright had testified that he wasn’t able to see the shooter on the night in question because it was dark and foggy.
