The police are investigating a double killing which occurred over the weekend in Crawl, Hampstead, St. Mary. One of the deceased, 79 year old farmer Charles Patterson, was found shot to death at his home Sunday morning, while the other man, 55 year old Winston Henry, was killed by a mob who accused him of the murder. Residents reported hearing explosions in the community on Friday night. The following day, they went to investigate, but found nothing unusual. But Mr. Patterson's body, which had bullet wounds, was found at his gate about 10:30 Sunday morning. Residents later accused Mr. Henry of the murder. He was set upon and beaten. Mr. Henry was then set ablaze. Mr. Patterson's daughter said her father and Mr. Henry had been involved in a land dispute.
