PSOJ pleased with revocation of EWI's licence

The Private Sector Organization of Jamaica says the Government has made the right decision to revoke the license of Energy World International (EWI) to construct a power plant to supply 381 megawatts of electricity to the national grid. The Government has decided to revoke the license because EWI missed the deadline to post the US$36.85 million performance bond. EWI was expected to post the bond by April 24, 10 days after it received the license for the mega energy project. The PSOJ president, Christopher Zacca, says transparency should be a top priority for the revamped 381 megawatt project.
