The Ministry of Education has decided to extend the temporary school bus service from Papine to Half-Way-Tree and other sections of the Corporate Area this year. The bus service was implemented late last year following a spate of violent attacks on students. The attacks also led the ministry to hire a security firm to conduct patrols along certain routes. In an address to the nation on Sunday night, Education Minister Senator Ruel Reid said the initiative has received positive feedback from stakeholders. He said talks are advanced on a national school bus service and the discussions will continue this year.
