O'Dayne Richards says he does intend to celebrate Jamaica's first gold medal win in the throws in style. Of all the ways to do it, he prefers a slice of pizza. And he deserves it. Richards, 26, threw a Commonwealth and national record of 21.61 metres to win Jamaica's first gold medal at these games, beating New Zealand's Tom Walsh (21.19) and Canada's Tim Nedow (20.59), for silver and gold, respectively. When quizzed on when was the last time he sunk his teeth in the Italian delight, he hesitated, then replied: "Two or three days ago."
