The coach of the women's 1,500m world record holder and reigning world champion has been arrested in Spain as part of an anti-doping operation. Jama Aden, was held after police raided his hotel room north of Barcelona. The coach and an unnamed physiotherapist have been charged with administering banned substances to athletes. The Spanish anti-doping agency, said reports show that the blood-boosting drug EPO had been found in the physio's hotel room. 20 athletes have been drug-tested at the hotel, in conjunction with the IAAF. The athletes have not been named and none has yet commented on the raid.
