St Thomas students stranded as taxi operators withdraw service

Hundreds of students were left stranded in sections of St Thomas after taxi operators this morning withdrew their services in protest over bad road conditions. The police said operators this morning blocked sections of the Land Top main road, Hordly Crossing, which connects Willowfield and Rowlandsfield in the parish to Portland, Amity Hall, as well as several roadways in Seaforth. Students were seen waiting restlessly along several roadways in the parish, while others were seen walking. Angry parents called on Member of Parliament for Eastern St Thomas Dr Fenton Ferguson to address the situation.
