Tallawahs sweeps victory

The Jamaica Tallawahs claimed their first win in the Carribean Premier League T20 competition beating the Antigua Hawkbills led by Jamaica's own Marlon Samuels by seven-wickets yesterday. The Hawkbills had won the toss and elected to bat and were bowled out for 117 for 7 in their 20 overs with Keiran Powell (38 runs) and Ricky Ponting (19 runs) getting the highest runs. In their reply, the Tallawahs reached their target in 16.5 overs as Andre Russel (42 runs) led the charge. Vernon Philander won the man-of-the-match award with his 3 wickets for 16 runs for the Tallawahs.
