An attempt is being made to secure a reduction in the new toll rates on Highway 2000 ahead of their implementation this Saturday. The increased rates cover the Portmore, Vineyards, Spanish Town and May Pen legs of the highway. Starting at Portmore, operators of class one vehicles will pay $200, for the Vineyards they will pay $400, for Spanish Town they will pay $140 and $100 for May Pen. For class two vehicles, the Portmore leg will now cost $320 for the Vineyards leg $580, the Spanish Town leg $220, and $160 for the May Pen Leg. Class 3 will pay $610 on the Portmore leg, $1100 on the Vineyards leg, $400 on the Spanish Town leg, and $320 on the May Pen leg.
