Union wants Ebola preparedness meeting with Ministry of Health

One of the unions representing non-medical staff at public hospitals in Jamaica is upset that it has not yet had a meeting with the Ministry of Health to discuss its concern that employees have not yet been given adequate Ebola preparation training or provided with the required protective gear, should the need arise. According to the Jamaica Workers Union (JWU), which represents patient care assistants, porters and laundry staff, nearly a week after it raised the issue, nothing has been done. The union is insisting on a meeting to have its concerns addressed.
