Utech students stage protest

At least two Nigerian students who arrived in St Vincent last week have been quarantined and will be repatriated. The students arrived without medical certificates to prove that they are not infected with the deadly Ebola virus. The Ministry of Health announced on September 1 that in order to prevent the entry of Ebola the country, persons travelling from Guinea, Sierra Leone or Liberia during a 28-day period will not be allowed entry. The students who did not present a medical certificate were quarantined at an isolated apartment at the school and were visited by officials from the Ministry of Health. They will remain there until a flight is available for them to be repatriated, or until they are tested for the virus. There are several Nigerian students enrolled at medical school at the All Saints University in St Vincent.
