Justice Minister Senator Mark Golding has indicated a willingness to engage in more discussions about the possibility introducing a legal scheme, which would facilitate all types of criminal records being expunged, under certain circumstances. While expressing that willingness to discuss the issue, however, Senator Golding is cautioning that this would "go beyond what other countries have done." Currently it is permissible to expunge only certain criminal records, but the call for Jamaica to go further has been increasing in the public domain and was recently raised in the Senate.
