Young Reggae Girlz win at CFU Championship

The national Under-17 female football team gave themselves a fighting chance in World Cup qualifying with a 5-1 victory over Bermuda at the CFU championship in Puerto Rico. Marlee Fray scored a quick first half double to set-up victory in the crucial encounter. Tarania Clark, Jody Brown and Rena Gordon rounded out scoring for the team which had drawn its opening match against host Puerto Rico. The Jamaicans go into the final match of the group against Cuba on today trailing their opponents by two points. A draw will guarantee progress to the CONCACAF Championship, which is the final round of World Cup qualifying.
